Tockholes ?
you
talking
about
Live the Dream?’
Yes.
So
tell
us
a
little
bit
more
about
the
DJ’s
at
the
Sett End
that
you
talking
about
please.
How
did
you
know
them?
….
I’ll
leave
that
to
you.
Well,
I
grew
up.
I
mucked
around
with
em
Preston.
Both
Preston
boys
and
they
come
from
a
background
of
Reggae
which
I
do,
you
know,
that’s
why
we’re
going
to
a
Reggae
do
tonight
in
Blackburn,
that
we’ve
set
up.
Do
you
do
Dub
Ministry ?
Yeah!
You
must
come!
Yeah
come!
I
brought
some
flyers
downstairs.
Who
are
these
guys ?
Kelly
and
Kenneth
Matthews
right
2
top

and
they

everything

collection
yeah?
all
of
it.
They
had
a
great
collection
of
all
stuff
but
mainly
reggae..
even
goes
further
back
with
you
and
Kelly’n
Kenneth
Oh,
yeah,
of
course!
It
does!
We
used
to
go
to
used
to
go
to
Northern
Soul
do’s
in
our
day,
and
we
got
arrested
together
at
Clifton
Hall
in
Rotherham,
I
were
15
got
arrested
for
drugs
and
Kelly
had
get
of
we
were
all
3
of
us
had
a
big
bag
of
weed.
Right
and
we
got
arrested.
Yeah,
on’t
coach..
so
police
got
us
down
there
rammed us
off-road
about
40
coppers
ran
on
took
scales
where
everybody
were
and
all
that
and
took
us
in
at
police
station
searched
us
and
nicked us
let
us
out
that
was
Rotherham
from
Clifton
Hall
Northern
Soul
Days.
So
from
that
we
used
to
go
we
were
called
the
Preston
Street
Dancers
had
t-shirts
made.
Kenneth’s
still…
Kelly’s
still
got
a
t-shirt
from
then
Caribbean
Yeah!
Caribbean
Club!
So
all
that
time
we
used
to
do
Carnival
day,
didn’t we?
So
from
that
then
we
the
music
started
to
get
going
didn’t

these

so

They
were
the

DJ.
Knew
How t’

old
school
from
proper
doing

Really
understood.
Yeah,
and
then
we
were
still in
contact
and
they
lived
Preston
and
I
lived
in
Leyland
and
Chorley
then.
Well,
can
I
just
say
because
we’ve
tried
to
do
a
timeline.
Yeah
av we!
You
miss
things
don’t
you?
Yeah
things
but
we
were
saying
even
before
Sett End
They
were
DJing
at
Adam
and
Eve’s
in
Blackpool
Well,
yeah,
and
that
was
in
1988
A
Guy
Called
Gerald
that
song
came
on.
That
was
like
88
Yeah
Kelly
Kenneth
were
DJing
it
then
and
so
they
progressed
from
that
and
then
I
kind
of
mean
you
moved
away
and
from
that
kind
of
circle
not
circle,
but
we
just
did,
lost
contact
and
then
the
next
thing
we
turned
up
one
of
these
parties,
and
someone
said
I
think
Kelly
Kenneth
av got sommat
to
do wi
it.
Have
they
eck?
And
they all
knew
I
knew
the
Mathews
brothers
and
every
Preston
street dancer
I
were
one
of
em
Frenchie
get
us
in!
if
I’m
gonna
get
anybody
in
I’ll
get
me
and
Rosie
in
because
we’re
like
brothers
aren’t
we
I
said,
I’ll
just
a
few
friends
if
I
can
if
I
can
do
it
they
pulled
up
in
a
what
was
it?
XR3I
a
white
one
out
side.
His
mate
was
Clem
was
driving
it
bless
him.
He’s
dead
now.
Clem
on’t
mic.
Yeah,
he
always
travelled
with
em,
and
they
pulled
I
went
over…
Alright
Frenchie!
Can
we
come
in?
course
you
can
got us
in
for
2
venues
and
then
We
got
in
the
know
all
the
parties,
but
they
were
the
best
DJs
going
them
and
were
famous,
very
famous
for
it.
Rosie
describe
what
it
was
like
when
you
went
in
the
Sett End?
Oh
amazing
weren’t
it
It
was
out
of
this
world.
Yeah,
the
music
the
actual
atmosphere
the
the
I mean
also…
it’s
how
we
all
dressed
because
we
didn’t
dress
up.
We
just
dressed
in
as
you
came
innit
Yeah,
you’re
hoodies
your
trainers
t’ keep
warm.
Yeah
baggie jeans
because
we
didn’t
know
where
we
were
going
next
did
we?
and
so
yeah,
I
know
it
was
a
really
good
experience
and
you
know,
I
remember…
remember
being
in
the
queue
the
first
Sett End
queue
first
time
I’d
gone
there
and
Howard…
there
was
loads
of
us
there
we
were
you
know
on
edge
thinking
are
we
going
to
get
in?
aren’t
we
going
to
get
in?
In
the
weeks
before
we’d
been
sat
outside.
Everybody’s
that
big
buzz
that
with
hundreds
of
cars
weren’t it
Nobody’d
ever
seen
anything
like
it
everybody
wanted
to
get
in
and
used
to
stand
outside.
But
the
queue
you
wouldn’t
get
in
anyway,
it were
just
it
was
being
there
weren’t it
it
not
necessarily
going
in
because
you
knew
once
them
DJ’s
have
come
out
of
there,
you
know.
Ooh,
you’re
going
to
get
your
party.
They’ve
been
privileged
to
before
laugh,
but
then
they
were
going
to
privilege
all
of
you
by…
if
you
knew
the
right
person
and
where
you
were
goin’
and
you
were
on
it.
You
got
to
it.
So
that’s
how
we
got
from
there
I said
Kenneth
and
Kelly.
I
need
to
know…
wer’ a
big
crew
Leylanders
will
you
know,
I
need
to
know
where
it
is.
We’re
good
bunch.
Right
Frenchy…
Ewood Mills
follow
us.
So
they
finished
the
set
early
then
someone
were
on
after
them.
Kelly
and
Kenneth
are
leaving
the
building
Yeah,
they
were
going
to
DJ
at
that
do
so
we
all
followed
didn’t
we?
Pulled
up
in
this
little
Street
like
that
which
is
now
McDonald’s
been
in
there
for
a
burger
today
haven’t
we!
(laughing)
This
is
where
DJ
were…
that’s
where
that…
laughs
Yeah,
and
so
we
went
up
this
thing
about…
big
step,
pitch
black,
pissed
wet
through,
dead
dark.
They’re
all
there in’t
Bally’s
aren’t
they…
top of
stairs
like
that
getting
fivers
out
everyone
was
going
shhhhh…
Keep
back…
keep
back
and
then
he
went…
Frenchie
it’s
me!
I went
Kelly …
I
love
you
he
went…
get in
you
f**kerer
All
of
ya
so
we
all
got
in wi’
balaclavas
on…
they
would
take
money
in
balaclavas on.
It’s
us
Frenchie!
..Oh
f**king
bless us…
So
that
was
it
we
were
in,
weren’t
we
and
that’s
the
one
that
I
can
that’s
the
first
one
really
that
I..
that
I
can
remember
really.
Well,
that’s
at
Ewood
Ewood Mills
that
yeah,
December
was a
good
venue
that
and
they
used
it
twice
8 days
later
yeah.
And
inside
remember
that
you
went
up
some
steps
didn’t
you.
And
you
turned
to
your
right
and
there
was
no
wall
there
for
them
to
20-foot…
20-foot
drop
pitch
black
with
water
at
bottom.
No
barriers
no
health
and
safety
and
all
that
were
there
in
them
days.
It were
just
get
in
and
party.
So
people
come
around
corner…
just
like
to
say
yeah,
this
is
the
first
person
who’s
described
it
correctly
because
I
have
heard
3
or
4
explanations
of
they
always go on
about
Ewood
Mill
parties
and
they
all come
up
with
these…
Ohhh
there
were all
these
floorboards
we’re
trippin
over……
they
weren’t..
It’s
just
it
was
a
big
Square.
Yeah,
with
steps
steps
on
the
side.
Yeah
walk
around
to yer
Right
to a
loading
bay
Look
down
big
drop
some
rubble
crap.
All
piss
wet
through
and
horrible.
Then
you
walk
through
thingy
and
then
it
opened
into
a
BIG
room
and
you
looked
over
there
and
we’ve
got
the
video
of
that
night
by
Kelly
and
Kenneth.
I’ve
got
it
Kelly
N
Kenneth
right
there
mate
wi’
a
big
camera,
right
and
I’ve
got
the
tapes
this
guy
used
to
walk
around
with
it
camera
shhhh
shhhh
and
uh,
all
of
us
everybody
on
it
filmed
it
all
and
then
I
used
to
Kelly
and
Kenneth
used
to
live
in
Flats.
Preston Bob !
I believe so..
So
Kenneth
lived
Kelly
and
Kenneth
lived
in
Avenham
and
that’s
where
they
were
brought
up
in
that
in
Avenham
in
Preston
and
I
used
to
go
for
my
lunch
there
every
day
for
my
dinner
because
you
know,
a butty
and
that,
you
know
us
little
Rastas
like
we
did
was
I
was
a
carpet
fitter
around
the
corner
me
in
Avenham
across
from
Jangos
the
Jamaican
Club,
so
I
was
in
with
a
community
of Rastas
weren’t
I…
I were
brought
up
with
Rastas
me.
So
I
used
to
go
there
for
my
lunch
and
he’d
do
tapes
for
me
because
he
was
a
DJ
had
it
all
set
up
in
his
room
and
also
he
had
a
stack
of
cassettes.
Then
from
that
said
hey
when
yeah,
he
used
to
play
it
dinner
time.
watching
it
all
raves
and
that
playin
music
and
then
I’d
go
lend us
that….
because
we’re
on
that
one.
We’re
on
that
one…
He’d
go…
No
I
can’t
do
Frenchie……
go
on
then
I’ll lend it
You!
still
got
it.
Still
got
it
mate!
Ewood
Mills
in
the
Ewood
Mills
It
was…
and
other
ones.
Yeah
Preston
Bob
the
guy
….
that
did
it
all.
His
mum
and
dad
had
the
video
shop
in
Preston
and
where
they
rented
out
videos
and
they
had a
camera
which
the
hired
out
as
well.
But
he used
to
nick it
on
Saturdays
That’s
right…
He’s
the
only
one
in
them
days
no
body
had a
camera
because
people
used
to
like
….
?
Are
you
from
telly ?
Was
a
proper
big’un
on
his
shoulder.
We
like
a
big…
He passed
away…
know
he
did.
I
heard
that.
Yeah,
but
I’ve
got
the
tape
we’re
trying
to
locate
it
all the
tapes
that
he
did
of
the
all
them
nights.
If
you
could
locate
that….
I
can,
you
know,
this
has
been
going
on
for…
for
for
years
and
you
know,
there’s
a
lot
of
people…
well
there’s
some
people
who
said
I
gave
it
to
I
get
nobody
seems
to…
we’ve
got
some
of
Bob’s
tapes
but
very…
very
few.
It’s
got
writing
on it
and
all
the dates
in
gold.
Have
yours
….
got
gold
writing
on?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It’s
got
gold
marker
yeah,
it’s
got
that
on
and
it’s
all
dates
and
everything
and
where
it
got
box
of
markers.
Is
it
gold
one
this
one?
Yeah.
It’s
like
a
metallic
gold.
VHS
some
of
it’s
on
one
place
of
it’s
on
to
get
before
them
tapes
seize
you
do.
Yeah.
Well
we
have
been
going
up
occasionally.
I
know
it
happens
up
so
that
they
see
if
we
can
come
across
a
lot
of
the
stuff.
We
just
found
all
the
tapes
of
Kelly
Kenneth
for
all
my
mates
did
from
them
days
and
I’ve
got
em
all
when
going
through
more
30
years
ago.
That’s
what
I
used
to
record
all
Reggae
and
Rave.
So
that’s
how
got
to
know
em
that’s
how
we
got
to the
parties
and
then
it
just
went
from
there
because
we
was
in
the
know
and
then
I
met
people
that…
that
I
had
not
seen
for
years
that
come
into
the
know
and
it
was
just
one
big…
come
on
let’s
have
it.
And
then
I
progressed
then
it
would
it
all
finished
here
with
police
and
all
that.
We
went
away
and
did
our
own
thing
that
way.
Yeah
and
everybody
did
that
mass
partying
didn’t
they
to
clubs
and
that
what
we
didn’t
realise
and
it
was
really
became,
you
know
made
me
realise
that
when
we
went
to
that
on
4th
of
October
was
how
you
all
had
to
deal
with
the
fallout
from
it
all.
Yeah,
you
know
how
you
were
all
left
with,
you
know?
Fall
out
in
some
respects,
maybe
not
you…
but
like
Tommy.
Yeah,
we’re
talking
about
that.
with
Tony
as
well,
you
know
personally,
the
only
thing
I
could
do
is
move
away.
I
moved
abroad.
Yeah,
we’ve
heard
that
story
from
a
few
people
today.
Yeah.

Yeah!
Caribbean

So
all
that

didn’t we?

not
circle,
but
we
just
did,
lost
contact
and
then
the
next
thing
we
turned
up
one
of
these
parties,
and
someone
said
I
think
Kelly
Kenneth
av got sommat
to
do wi
it.
Have
they
eck?
And
they all
knew
I
knew
the
Mathews
brothers
and
every
Preston
street dancer
I
were
one
of
em
Frenchie
get
us
in!
if
I’m
gonna
get
anybody
in
I’ll
get
me
and
Rosie
in
because
we’re
like
brothers
aren’t
we
I
said,
I’ll
just
a
few
friends
if
I
can
if
I
can
do
it
they
pulled
up
in
a
what
was
it?
XR3I
a
white
one
out
side.
His
mate
was
Clem
was
driving
it
bless
him.
He’s
dead
now.
Clem
on’t
mic.
Yeah,
he
always
travelled
with
em,
and
they
pulled
I
went
over…
Alright
Frenchie!
Can
we
come
in?
course
you
can
got us
in
for
2
venues
and
then
We
got
in
the
know
all
the
parties,
but
they
were
the
best
DJs
going
them
and
were
famous,
very
famous
for
it.
Rosie
describe
what
it
was
like
when
you
went
in
the
Sett End?
Oh
amazing
weren’t
it
It
was
out
of
this
world.
Yeah,
the
music
the
actual
atmosphere
the
the
I mean
also…
it’s
how
we
all
dressed
because
we
didn’t
dress
up.
We
just
dressed
in
as
you
came
innit
Yeah,
you’re
hoodies
your
trainers
t’ keep
warm.
Yeah
baggie jeans
because
we
didn’t
know
where
we
were
going
next
did
we?
and
so
yeah,
I
know
it
was
a
really
good
experience
and
you
know,
I
remember…
remember
being
in
the
queue
the
first
Sett End
queue
first
time
I’d
gone
there
and
Howard…
there
was
loads
of
us
there
we
were
you
know
on
edge
thinking
are
we
going
to
get
in?
aren’t
we
going
to
get
in?
In
the
weeks
before
we’d
been
sat
outside.
Everybody’s
that
big
buzz
that
with
hundreds
of
cars
weren’t it
Nobody’d
ever
seen
anything
like
it
everybody
wanted
to
get
in
and
used
to
stand
outside.
But
the
queue
you
wouldn’t
get
in
anyway,
it were
just
it
was
being
there
weren’t it
it
not
necessarily
going
in
because
you
knew
once
them
DJ’s
have
come
out
of
there,
you
know.
Ooh,
you’re
going
to
get
your
party.
They’ve
been
privileged
to
before
laugh,
but
then
they
were
going
to
privilege
all
of
you
by…
if
you
knew
the
right
person
and
where
you
were
goin’
and
you
were
on
it.
You
got
to
it.
So
that’s
how
we
got
from
there
I said
Kenneth
and
Kelly.
I
need
to
know…
wer’ a
big
crew
Leylanders
will
you
know,
I
need
to
know
where
it
is.
We’re
good
bunch.
Right
Frenchy…
Ewood Mills
follow
us.
So
they
finished
the
set
early
then
someone
were
on
after
them.
Kelly
and
Kenneth
are
leaving
the
building
Yeah,
they
were
going
to
DJ
at
that
do
so
we
all
followed
didn’t
we?
Pulled
up
in
this
little
Street
like
that
which
is
now
McDonald’s
been
in
there
for
a
burger
today
haven’t
we!
(laughing)
This
is
where
DJ
were…
that’s
where
that…
laughs
Yeah,
and
so
we
went
up
this
thing
about…
big
step,
pitch
black,
pissed
wet
through,
dead
dark.
They’re
all
there in’t
Bally’s
aren’t
they…
top of
stairs
like
that
getting
fivers
out
everyone
was
going
shhhhh…
Keep
back…
keep
back
and
then
he
went…
Frenchie
it’s
me!
I went
Kelly …
I
love
you
he
went…
get in
you
f**kerer
All
of
ya
so
we
all
got
in wi’
balaclavas
on…
they
would
take
money
in
balaclavas on.
It’s
us
Frenchie!
..Oh
f**king
bless us…
So
that
was
it
we
were
in,
weren’t
we
and
that’s
the
one
that
I
can
that’s
the
first
one
really
that
I..
that
I
can
remember
really.
Well,
that’s
at
Ewood
Ewood Mills
that
yeah,
December
was a
good
venue
that
and
they
used
it
twice
8 days
later
yeah.
And
inside
remember
that
you
went
up
some
steps
didn’t
you.
And
you
turned
to
your
right
and
there
was
no
wall
there
for
them
to
20-foot…
20-foot
drop
pitch
black
with
water
at
bottom.
No
barriers
no
health
and
safety
and
all
that
were
there
in
them
days.
It were
just
get
in
and
party.
So
people
come
around
corner…
just
like
to
say
yeah,
this
is
the
first
person
who’s
described
it
correctly
because
I
have
heard
3
or
4
explanations
of
they
always go on
about
Ewood
Mill
parties
and
they
all come
up
with
these…
Ohhh
there
were all
these
floorboards
we’re
trippin
over……
they
weren’t..
It’s
just
it
was
a
big
Square.
Yeah,
with
steps
steps
on
the
side.
Yeah
walk
around
to yer
Right
to a
loading
bay
Look
down
big
drop
some
rubble
crap.
All
piss
wet
through
and
horrible.
Then
you
walk
through
thingy
and
then
it
opened
into
a
BIG
room
and
you
looked
over
there
and
we’ve
got
the
video
of
that
night
by
Kelly
and
Kenneth.
I’ve
got
it
Kelly
N
Kenneth
right
there
mate
wi’
a
big
camera,
right
and
I’ve
got
the
tapes
this
guy
used
to
walk
around
with
it
camera
shhhh
shhhh
and
uh,
all
of
us
everybody
on
it
filmed
it
all
and
then
I
used
to
Kelly
and
Kenneth
used
to
live
in
Flats.
Preston Bob !
I believe so..
So
Kenneth
lived
Kelly
and
Kenneth
lived
in
Avenham
and
that’s
where
they
were
brought
up
in
that
in
Avenham
in
Preston
and
I
used
to
go
for
my
lunch
there
every
day
for
my
dinner
because
you
know,
a butty
and
that,
you
know
us
little
Rastas
like
we
did
was
I
was
a
carpet
fitter
around
the
corner
me
in
Avenham
across
from
Jangos
the
Jamaican
Club,
so
I
was
in
with
a
community
of Rastas
weren’t
I…
I were
brought
up
with
Rastas
me.
So
I
used
to
go
there
for
my
lunch
and
he’d
do
tapes
for
me
because
he
was
a
DJ
had
it
all
set
up
in
his
room
and
also
he
had
a
stack
of
cassettes.
Then
from
that
said
hey
when
yeah,
he
used
to
play
it
dinner
time.
watching
it
all
raves
and
that
playin
music
and
then
I’d
go
lend us
that….
because
we’re
on
that
one.
We’re
on
that
one…
He’d
go…
No
I
can’t
do
Frenchie……
go
on
then
I’ll lend it
You!
still
got
it.
Still
got
it
mate!
Ewood
Mills
in
the
Ewood
Mills
It
was…
and
other
ones.
Yeah
Preston
Bob
the
guy
….
that
did
it
all.
His
mum
and
dad
had
the
video
shop
in
Preston
and
where
they
rented
out
videos
and
they
had a
camera
which
the
hired
out
as
well.
But
he used
to
nick it
on
Saturdays
That’s
right…
He’s
the
only
one
in
them
days
no
body
had a
camera
because
people
used
to
like
….
?
Are
you
from
telly ?
Was
a
proper
big’un
on
his
shoulder.
We
like
a
big…
He passed
away…
know
he
did.
I
heard
that.
Yeah,
but
I’ve
got
the
tape
we’re
trying
to
locate
it
all the
tapes
that
he
did
of
the
all
them
nights.
If
you
could
locate
that….
I
can,
you
know,
this
has
been
going
on
for…
for
for
years
and
you
know,
there’s
a
lot
of
people…
well
there’s
some
people
who
said
I
gave
it
to
I
get
nobody
seems
to…
we’ve
got
some
of
Bob’s
tapes
but
very…
very
few.
It’s
got
writing
on it
and
all
the dates
in
gold.
Have
yours
….
got
gold
writing
on?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It’s
got
gold
marker
yeah,
it’s
got
that
on
and
it’s
all
dates
and
everything
and
where
it
got
box
of
markers.
Is
it
gold
one
this
one?
Yeah.
It’s
like
a
metallic
gold.
VHS
some
of
it’s
on
one
place
of
it’s
on
to
get
before
them
tapes
seize
you
do.
Yeah.
Well
we
have
been
going
up
occasionally.
I
know
it
happens
up
so
that
they
see
if
we
can
come
across
a
lot
of
the
stuff.
We
just
found
all
the
tapes
of
Kelly
Kenneth
for
all
my
mates
did
from
them
days
and
I’ve
got
em
all
when
going
through
more
30
years
ago.
That’s
what
I
used
to
record
all
Reggae
and
Rave.
So
that’s
how
got
to
know
em
that’s
how
we
got
to the
parties
and
then
it
just
went
from
there
because
we
was
in
the
know
and
then
I
met
people
that…
that
I
had
not
seen
for
years
that
come
into
the
know
and
it
was
just
one
big…
come
on
let’s
have
it.
And
then
I
progressed
then
it
would
it
all
finished
here
with
police
and
all
that.
We
went
away
and
did
our
own
thing
that
way.
Yeah
and
everybody
did
that
mass
partying
didn’t
they
to
clubs
and
that
what
we
didn’t
realise
and
it
was
really
became,
you
know
made
me
realise
that
when
we
went
to
that
on
4th
of
October
was
how
you
all
had
to
deal
with
the
fallout
from
it
all.
Yeah,
you
know
how
you
were
all
left
with,
you
know?
Fall
out
in
some
respects,
maybe
not
you…
but
like
Tommy.
Yeah,
we’re
talking
about
that.
with
Tony
as
well,
you
know
personally,
the
only
thing
I
could
do
is
move
away.
I
moved
abroad.
Yeah,
we’ve
heard
that
story
from
a
few
people
today.
Yeah.
