When
did
you
first
hear
about
Acid
House
in
Blackburn?
And
how
did
you
get
involved
in?
What’s
your
involvement
in
it?
I’ve
never
i’d…
the
only
thing
I
heard
of
Acid
House
was
in
Manchester
going
over
to
the
Boardwalk
one…
one
night
to
watch
some
bands
and
I’d
never
heard
this
music
before
and
then
errr
it
suddenly
you
know,
it
…
everything
just
switched
in
one…
it
seemed
to
be
over
one
weekend
from
the…
all
the
Indie
music
to
this
Acid
House
music
and
a…
I…
What
I
actually
remembered
was this
track
was…
that
was
it…
Aciiiiiiid
…
that
one.
Yeah
they had
it in the
Boardwalk
and
I
couldn’t
tell
what
they
were
saying
in
this…
this…
this…
this
song
but
I
remember
all
these
people
just
getting
up
and
dancing
to
it
and
I’m
thinking
what’s
this
4
to
the
floor,
you
know
sort
of
Disco
beat
almost
but
very
very
loud.
Yeah
because
at
the
time
it
was
just
mostly..
was
Indie
…
Indie
Rock.
Yeah.
cos…cos….
and
it
…
and
it
didn’t…
be…
and
I
just
thought
I
was
just,
you
know,
I
didn’t
realise
it
was
gonna
gonna
on
to be
the scale
it
did
and
it
was
only
a
matter
of
about
a
month
later
that
I
was
like
I
was
in
Blackburn
and
I
was
at
a
party.
I
was
supposed
to
be
playing
myself
and
in
London,
but
the
gig
had
been
cancelled…
And
that
was
for
which
band?
I
can’t
remember
who’ it
was
I
supposed
to
be
seeing
now…
ermmm
ohh
right.
ohh
sorry
you
meant
my
band?
Errr..
Bitter
Harvest
We were
supposed
to be
playin’
in Brixton
but we
weren’t
it had been
cancelled
so we
ended up
at this
party
up in
Revidge
which
is
on
the
North
side
of
Blackburn
…
Yep…
And we
came
out
of
the
round
about
midnight
this
party
and we
could
hear
this
noise
this
thumping
noise
that
at the
time
I
lived
in
a
Mill Hill
flats
which
is
sort
of
central
Blackburn
and
there’s
another
story
about
that
remind
me
to
tell
you
that
about
the
flats
in
a
minute
and
I
was
we
were
we’ve
sort of said
so
where
is
this
sound
coming
from?
So
we
started
to
walk
towards
it
and
we
couldn’t
we couldn’t
you
know
…
fff
…
because
we’d
have
had
to
we were
able
to
drop
right
down
into
Blackburn
we
kinda
just
kept
walking
and
walking
to
it was
getting
louder
and
there’s…
…
well
we
got…
we
got
to
our
flat
and
then
we
still
could
hear
it
and
it
was
getting
louder
as
we
got
nearer.
And
so
we
just
carried
on
walking
and
I
said
it’s
Tockholes
It’s
up
there
something’s
going
on
at
Tockholes
…
and
so
we
walked
…
…
I
don’t
know
how
many
miles
we
walked
that
day,
but
it
was
like
what’s
up
there?
And
then
suddenly
you
could
see
everything
what was
going…
something
was
going
on.
It
was
literally
the
other
side…
the
other
side
of
Blackburn.
Yeah.
So
we
walked
from
the
North
to
well
almost
to
Belmont
almost…
which
was
the other
side of Blackburn
we
walked
right
…
right
across
Blackburn…
right
to
the
other
side
and
then
we
found
what
was
going
on,
you
know
just
started
seeing
people
and
you
know…
then
the
sounds
…
of
this
of
this
…
was
getting
louder
and
louder
and
that’s
how
I
discovered
it…
when
I
had
no
idea
it
was
happening.
I
don’t
think
anybody
I
don’t…
well
some
people
must
have
known
but
it
transpired
that
the
flat that
I
that
I
lived
in
Griffin
…
Court
in
Blackburn
in
number
49
and
the
Kreft
brothers
lived
at
number
50
now
they
were
supposed…
I
don’t
if
you
can
use
this…
No
totally.
You
can?
…
…
Tony’s
done
an
interview
as.
Well
ok
well
say
hello
for me
because
I lived
next
door
to
him
and
they…
and
it
would..
become
clear
over
that
Summer
that
they
were
prime
movers
in
this…
what was
going
on
And Tony
and Dean…
was
it
Dean?
That’s
correct.
Yeah.
Yeah,
and
we
used
to
speak
to
them…
I
used
to
go
out
on
me
balcony
sometimes
and
they
knew
I
was
a
musician
and
I lived
knew
they
were
something
to
do
with
the
Manchester
lot…
and
we’d
just
i’d
…
just
hop
over
the
balcony
rail
and
go
and
sit
and
talk
to
them
you
know,
and
that
sometimes…
and
the
girl
I
lived
with
…
Adrienne
…
…
…
I
shared
a
flat
with
and
she
was
always
complaining
about
the
noise
that
they were
making
but
I
was
quite
into
it.
But
it
…
that…
that
was
the…
that
was
the
irony
of
it
actually.
I lived
next
door
to
him.
Wow.
And
it
still
…
it
took
me
a
while
to
because
they
kept
it
they
…
…
kept
it
quiet
at
the
time,
you
know
because
…
wer’
nobody
supposed
to
know,
but
that’s
the
first
time
I
became
aware
of
it…
was
that
night.
